Duramax ticking noise

2023 6.6 NOISE QUESTION. Hey guys, just bought my 1st NEW Duramax (EVER) and have a question. The truck is a 2023 GMC AT4 HD! Have owned many used high mile 6.6 trucks and still have a 16 Denali 2500HD with 209k miles that was put on a diet.

The filter was torqued on like a mother, anyway I changed the oil with 15w40 regular rotella and a cheap fram filter.

If tick stops with x injector that’s the culprit. As the engines get quieter the noise becomes more prominent. Some people do find different brand oil seems to quieten the noise some but experimentation is key for some because not all oils act the same in all engines..Seems to be more pronounced from the drivers side. Can’t tell if it’s lower or higher on the engine but seems to be higher. Could be the high pressure fuel pump, it is located in the driver's side front of the engine.
