I just acquired a 1902 12 gauge Ithaca Hammerless Crass Double barrel shotgun s 1 2 Serial 76509 that uses NITRO POWDER STEEL shells. I was wondering if anyone has or knows about this type of weapon and the shells used for it.The gun is a double barrel Ithaca, 16 gauge, I think. I found the serial number under one of the barrels, and the same number on the metal part that the barrel closes down on. The number is 349032.
